After finishing first in the round-robin with four wins and a loss, Patti McKnight from the Horne Granite Club advanced to the final where she defeated Annie Macsemchuk from the Kakabeka Falls Curling Club. McKnight’s rink of third Joanne Heasman, Second Heidi St. Onge and lead Tina Bedard lead 4-3 after six ends before scoring three in the seventh end to jump out to a commanding 7-3 lead. In the eighth end, McKnight ran Macsemchuk out of rocks to win the 2009 Women’s Northern Ontario Dominion Club Championship. Their victory advances them to the nationals at the St. George’s Golf & Country Club in Toronto taking place November 24 to 29.
