EDMONTON – The Grand Slam of Curling just raised the stakes a lot higher.
Sportsnet announced on Wednesday that a $1-million bonus will be awarded to a men’s team if it can win all four events in the series.
If a men’s team does not win all four Grand Slams, the top three men’s teams based on the points system will split a $100,000 purse — $50,000 for first place, $30,000 for second and $20,000 for third.
“Sportsnet is committed to growing the Grand Slam of Curling like never before, and the addition of the substantial bonus truly delivers on that promise,” Scott Moore, Rogers Media’s president of broadcasting, said in a news release.
