Curling calendar will raise funds for young athletes

By rconnopprice

Curling’s newest fundraising calendar will provide a legacy to young athletes getting their start in the Roaring Game.

The 2015 Spirit of Curling Calendar is now for sale, with a portion of the proceeds going directly to the Canadian Curling Association’s For The Love of Curling philanthropic program, benefitting young curlers and curling centres across Canada.

“We’re extremely pleased that this beautiful calendar will play a significant role in continuing the growth of curling in Canada,” said Canadian Curling Association Chief Executive Officer Greg Stremlaw. “Like For The Love of Curling, the Spirit of Curling puts its focus on the grassroots of the game, while still acknowledging some of the sport’s biggest names and showing their athleticism. And the added bonus is that by buying this calendar, you’re helping young curlers and local curling centres across the country.”

The calendars are now available for purchase at thespiritofcurling.com at a cost of $20 apiece plus taxes, shipping and handling.

In addition to For The Love of Curling, funds raised from calendar sales also will go to the Sandra Schmirler Foundation and the Canadian Spinal Cord Research Organization.
