Sandra Schmirler Golf Tournament Okanagan raises $20,600
Sandra Schmirler Golf Tournament Okanagan and the Sandra Schmirler Foundation donate $20,600 towards the purchase of a specialized incubator for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Kelowna General Hospital. The Sandra Schmirler Golf Tournament Okanagan was held August 19 to 21, 2011. The two-round golf tournament weekend took place at Shadow Ridge Golf Club, in Kelowna, BC.

2012 BC Men’s Championship
Jim Cotter is back to defend his Canadian Direct Insurance British Columbia Men’s Curling Championship with a revamped lineup. Long-time second Kevin Folk has moved up to third while Tyrel Griffith has stepped in at second. Cotter, along with 15 other teams, will take part in the triple-knockout championship in Parksville this week.

Kelly Scott from Kelowna looks to win three provincial championships in a row at the 2011-12 Scotties British Columbia Women’s Curling Championship presented by Best Western taking place Monday, January 23 to Sunday, January 29, 2012 at the North Shore Winter Club in North Vancouver, BC. Ten of the best Women’s teams from across British Columbia will compete in the provincial championship.

2012 BC Junior Championships in Victoria
The 2011-12 Tim Horton’s BC Junior Curling Championships take place December 27 to 31 at the Victoria Curling Centre in Victoria, BC. Eight junior women’s and eight junior men’s teams will playoff to represent British Columbia at the M&M Meat Shops Canadian Juniors in Napanee, ON February 4 to 12.

The Campbell River Curling Club plays host the Men’s Vancouver Island playdowns from December 16 to 18. Ten of the top Vancouver Island teams will be playing for two berths in Canadian Direct Insurance BC Men’s Curling Championship presented by Dundee Wealth in Parksville in February.

The British Columbia Men’s Curling playdowns begin this weekend with four regional playdowns taking place in the new 5 inter-region playdown format. Qualifiers from these four regional playdowns plus one more next weekend will qualify teams for the Canadian Direct Insurance BC Men’s Curling Championship presented by Dundee Wealth.
