Law leads at BC Scotties

Scott wins in extra-end in Draw 4
Defending BC Women’s Champion Kelly Scott hung on for an 8-6 extra-end win over Nicole Backe in Draw 4 at the Scotties BC Women’s Curling Championship presented by Best Western. Scott sits in third place at 3-1 trailing Kelley Law and Roz Craig who are both unbeaten at 4-0. Law and Craig face off at noon Pacific in Draw 5 at the Cloverdale Curling Club. Buchy, Yamada take last two Interior berths
Kimberley’s Tom Buchy and Kamloops’ Brent Yamada won the final two Interior berths for the Canadian Direct Insurance British Columbia Men’s Curling Championship at the Interior #2 Playdown held at the Prince George Golf and Curling Club this past weekend.

Dangerfield, Clarke qualify for BC Men’s
The final two Coastal berths for the Canadian Direct Insurance British Columbia Men’s Curling Championship were determined at the Juan de Fuca Club in Victoria. Neil Dangerfield and Jason Clarke will join the six other teams who have already qualified.

New Brunswick Men’s Preliminary
The first four qualifiers for the News Brunswick Molson Men’s Tankard Final 8 were determined at the Gage Curling Club in Oromocto. James Grattan, Jeremy Mallais, Paul Dobson and Rick Perron all advance to the Molson Men’s Tankard Final 8 Feb. 2 to 6 at the Miramichi Curling Club. Four more qualifiers will be determined at the Provincial Wildcard at Curling Beauséjour Inc. in Moncton January 21 – 23.
