$1 Million Grand Slam Bonus
Sportsnet announced on Wednesday that a $1-million bonus will be awarded to a men’s team if it can win all four events in the series. If a men’s team does not win all four Grand Slams, the top three men’s teams based on the points system will split a $100,000 purse — $50,000 for first place, $30,000 for second and $20,000 for third.

Sandra Schmirler Golf Tournament Okanagan and the Sandra Schmirler Foundation donate $20,600 towards the purchase of a specialized incubator for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Kelowna General Hospital. The Sandra Schmirler Golf Tournament Okanagan was held August 19 to 21, 2011. The two-round golf tournament weekend took place at Shadow Ridge Golf Club, in Kelowna, BC.

The 2011-12 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts takes place Monday, January 23 to Sunday, January 29, 2012 at the Kenora Curling Club in Kenora, Ontario. Ten of the best Women’s teams from across Ontario will compete in the provincial championship to represent Ontario at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Red Deer, Alberta from February 18, to 26, 2012.

The 2011-12 Tim Horton’s BC Junior Curling Championships take place December 27 to 31 at the Victoria Curling Centre in Victoria, BC. Eight junior women’s and eight junior men’s teams will playoff to represent British Columbia at the M&M Meat Shops Canadian Juniors in Napanee, ON February 4 to 12.
