Jacobs Crazy Eight-Ender
In The Dominion Men’s Northern Ontario Curling Association Championship semi-final on Saturday afternoon, Jacobs team of EJ Harnden, Ryan Harnden and Scott Seabrook scored an extremely rare eight-ender in the sixth end in their 14-3 victory over Sudbury’s Tim Phillips. Eight-enders are infrequent in club curling and completely unimaginable at the highest level of curling.

2012 NOCA Junior Provincials
The 2011-12 Northern Ontario Junior Men’s and Women’s Provincial Championships take place Thursday, January 5 to Sunday, January 8. The Atikokan Curling Club will be hosting the Junior Men while the Sioux Lookout Golf and Curling Club will host the Junior Women. Eight Men’s and Women’s teams are playing in this weekend’s competition after qualifying through playdowns in their respective areas.

McCarville back to defend NOCA Championship
The Copper Cliff Curling Club in Sudbury, ON plays host to the 2011-12 Northern Ontario Women’s Curling Championship from December 9 to 11. Four spots in the Ontario Women’s Championship are up for grabs with defending Northern Ontario champion Krista McCarville looking to take one of them.

Lilly & Johnston N. Ontario Junior Champions
Kendra Lilly from the Idylwylde Curling Club and Cody Johnston from the Fort William Curling Club won the Junior Women’s and Men’s Northern Ontario Curling Championship at the North Bay Granite Curling Club. Both teams will represent Northern Ontario at the Junior Nationals in Calgary.

Northern Ontario Junior Provincials
The top six men’s and women’s junior curling teams in Northern Ontario will be competing in North Bay at the North Bay Granite Curling Club for the right to represent Northern Ontario at the Nationals in Calgary. The round-robin begins January 7 at 2:30pm for both the men and women.
