Interested fans are encouraged to come out and enjoy a game or two.  Owners of winning program numbers are in for great prizes each draw.

Best of luck to our qualifiers - may the best team win.

Volunteers and fans at the Nanaimo Curling Centre are eagerly awaiting the start of the Williams Moving & Storage 2012 BC Mixed Curling Championships, which begin March 15 at the Centre.

Curlers from Prince George, Kimberley and Salmon Arm will be vying for bragging rights as the top mixed team in BC with four coastal teams:  one each from Langley and Richmond and two from Vancouver Island - Kerry Park and Duncan.

Well-known local curlers and former BC Mixed curling champs Wes and Ros Craig from Kerry Park will provide spectators with some familiar faces.   Their long-time opponents, the Tom Buchy foursome from Kimberley, are also former provincial champs.

Tom and his second player, Dave Toffolo, along with Jason Montgomery of Duncan, met in the recent CDI Men's Provincials in Parksville, with Jason's team, skipped by Sean Geall, taking the bronze medal.

On the women's side, both Roz Craig and Sarah Wark competed in the Scotties Women's Provincial at North Shore Winter Club earlier this season.

Good curling is guaranteed once these athletes take to the ice.  The format is a triple knockout followed by a Page Playdown with the winner being decided on Sunday afternoon, March 18.  The champions will advance to the National event next November 15-24 at the Town of Mount Royal Curling Club in Montreal.
