BC’s Mixed Team, Team Buchy, will be among the first teams showcased as part of partnership between CBC Sports and Curling Canada.
That’s because the 2018 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship taking place in Swan River, Manitoba, from Nov. 12-18, will be the first event to get livestreamed on the internet through this new partnership.
Beginning Monday, Nov. 13 each draw will be available via live-streaming coverage at cbcsports.ca and on the CBC Sports app.
Team Buchy, from Kimberley, features , Tom Buchy, Lori Buchy, Dave Toffolo and Robyn Toffolo. The team has been playing together for 14 years.
This is the fourth time the team will travel to Mixed nationals, with Dave Toffolo playing in his fifth nationals.
The team travelled to Whitehorse in 2006, Morris, Manitoba, in 2011 and Montreal in 2013. Dave Toffolo played in the 1994 Canadian Mixed.
Tom Buchy said: “We are looking forward to this year’s event. It is so difficult to get to these so when you make it , it is very enjoyable. The mixed is a fun event. The committees always do a great job and the ice is fantastic.”
Coverage of four other 2018 Curing Canada events, including the Seniors, the Wheelchair, the Mixed Doubles and U Sports will also be live-streamed at cbcsports.ca.
